Friday: Johnette Napolitano, Laurie Sargent, 8 p.m., House of Blues' Parish: The lead singer for Concrete Blonde has a long history with New Orleans and had even got tattoos here. On this tour, she performs as a solo singing songs, telling stories, and reading from Rough Mix, her book of stories, memoirs, poetry, lyrics and essays. Saturday: Terry McDermott and the Bonfires, 10 p.m., One Eyed Jacks: The one-time runner-up on The Voice and New Orleans resident has some of the broad appeal you’d expect from a Voice contestant, but he also draws on ’90s Britpop. Sunday: Pennywise, Anti-Flag, A Wilhelm Scream, 7:30 p.m., Tipitina’s: The long-time Southern California punk band and Warped Tour veterans reunited with long-time lead singer Jim Lindberg last year to make a new album, Yesterdays. (tickets)

Monday: The Psycho Sisters, 9 p.m., Chickie Wah Wah: Susan Cowsill and Vicki Peterson have performed together as the Psycho Sisters since the early ’90s, but Peterson’s return to The Bangles and Cowsill’s solo career put the duo on hold until last year when they recorded the songs they’d written and played together for a 20-plus years-in-the-making debut album, Up on the Chair, Bernice.

Wednesday: King Tuff, Ex Hex, 10 p.m., One Eyed Jacks: A really good bill topped by the classic rock-like power trio King Tuff. On last year’s Black Moon Spell they’re very clever and very wry—which could be good or bad things—but they don’t forget to rock in an old school way. Thursday: The Breton Sound presents Desert Island Discs, Social Set 9 p.m., Gasa Gasa: On the first night of The Breton Sound’s “Desert Island Discs” series, they’ll perform Weezer’s Blue Album in its entirety, and The Social Set will cover No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom. The Wizard World Comic Con returns to the Morial Convention Center Friday and goes all weekend with guest stars Bruce Campbell (who'll host a pop culture fan game show, Last Fan Standing), Tom Fenton (“Draco Malfoy”), a host of The Walking Dead cast members, Vampire Diaries cast members, and the WWE’s Bella Twins. Friday, two indie Carnival groups have fundraisers. The Pussyfooters’ Blush Ball takes place at Generations Hall to raise money for the Metropolitan Center for Women and Children with music by Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Quickie Mart, and DJ Fresh Johnson. (information) The same night, the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus’ 5th Annual Sci-Fi Fashion Show takes place at The Howlin’ Wolf. (tickets)

Saturday, on Saturday, the Krewe of the Rolling Elvi will host The King’s Totally ’80s 80th Birthday Party at 7:30 p.m. at The Howlin’ Wolf. (tickets)

Thursday, My Spilt Milk contributor Brian Boyles will have a book signing party for his excellent new book, New Orleans Boom and Blackout: One Hundred Days in America’s Coolest Hotspot, which looks at the new New Orleans through the lens of the Super Bowl in 2013. The signing will be at Garden District Books at 6 p.m.(information)
