Other Stuff
Garfunkel and Oates seem so nice, but the wrongest things come out of their mouths in their songs. The comedy duo rose from a cult act to a bigger cult act now that the first season of their IFC Channel has aired. Saturday night, they’ll play the House of Blues. (tickets)
Taylor Lee Shepherd’s “Alterpiece” features refurbished televisions that respond to audio stimulus. To help show what the piece can do, New Orleans Airlift has organized “Space Rites,” a series of show in St. Maurice Church where the work is housed. Percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani knows a startling number of ways to make sound with a gong, and on Saturday night he and the Nakatani Gong Orchestra will perform in the church. (information)
