Other Stuff
The New Movement’s comedy festival Hell Yes Fest started Wednesday at a number of Bywater venues, but its signature show takes place Friday at the House of Blues when stand-up comic Tom Segura plays shows at 6:30 p.m. (tickets) and 8:30 p.m. (tickets)

“This is NOLA” is a new free series drawing attention to up and coming talent in New Orleans. Its second event takes place Friday at the Joy Theater with Crash (featuring members of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes), Tank and The Bangas, Bent Denim, and Quickie Mart. Show starts at 8 p.m. and is free with RSVP (information)

Saturday night, The Prytania Bar will host “Highway to the Danger-Free Zone,” a benefit for APEX Youth Center with The Honorable South, The Local Skank, Kelcy Mae Band, Micah McKee and Little Maker, Fo on the Flo with Slangston Hughes, and Jonathan Brown Music (information)

Saturday night, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline and Rob Cambre will perform an improvised duo show at Saint Maurice Catholic Church where Taylor Lee Shepherd’s Prospect.3-related art installation “Alterpiece” made from refurbished televisions will present a visual representation of their music. Hell Yes Fest ends on Saturday night, but comedy will continue to come to New Orleans. On Thursday, stand-up and actor Chris D’Elia, who co-starred on Whitney and is currently on Undateable on NBC, will play the Civic Theatre. (tickets)
