On Wednesday, March 30, Winter Circle Productions presents Daniel Rossen at the Toulouse Theatre, and we have a pair of tickets to give away. 

Grizzly Bear guitarist Daniel Rossen is on tour in support of his upcoming solo album, You Belong There, due out April 8. Stereogum accurately described the first release from the album, “Shadow in the Frame,” as “the kind of vivid, proggy chamber-indie Rossen has always specialized in. His virtuosic guitar work is front and center, accented by swells of brass and woodwinds and his trembling vocals, powerful yet fragile.” 

It’s a sonic palate Rossen has explored on his own since 2012’s Silent Hour/Golden Mile EP, though it reflects a decade’s growth as a musician and songwriter. If anything, the first two tracks released from You Belong There show the Grizzly Bear lineage more clearly despite five years’ passage since their last album. The new songs are as ornate and intricate as Grizzly Bear’s finest, but with more organic textures and rationales in the arrangements.

The show takes place at the Toulouse Theatre—formerly One Eyed Jacks—and the contest closes Tuesday, March 29, at 5 p.m. Central.
