The renegade Mardi Gras krewe will party at Tip's with music by The Local Skank and more. To have a chance to win tickets, register for Condensed Milk. Friday: Honey Island Swamp Band, Dave Jordan Band, 8 p.m., Tipitina's: New Orleans' leading Americana band brings blues, R&B, folk, country and rock 'n' roll together is a loose, funky blend. (free)
Saturday: New Orleans Beatles Festival feat. the Top Cats, Chuck Credo IV, Marc Broussard and others, 9 p.m., House of Blues: This yearly event doesn't try to present post-modern Beatles interpretations - it's about the songs you've known for all these years. (Tickets)
Sunday: Kitty Lynn Benefit feat. Guitar Lightnin' Lee and the Thunder Band, Clockwork Elvis, Die Slutzz, Luke Allen, DJ Pasta, 8 p.m., Saturn Bar: Singer Kitty Lynn is battling breast cancer, and friends are holding a fundraiser in her honor. This show was scheduled for Siberia but had to be moved because of Siberia's current - hopefully temporary - cancellation of live music until it gets permit issues worked out.

Tuesday: Open Ears Music Series feat. Simon Lott and Anthony Cuccia present Slaminate!, 10 p.m., Blue Nile Upstairs: Lott is one of the most creative drummers right now, and in this duo he's paired with The Other Planets' multi-instrumentalist Anthony Cuccia, who's musically omnivorous. (free)
Thursday: Ogden After Hours feat. Ratty Scurvics and Meschiya Lake, 6 p.m., Ogden Museum of Southern Art: Ratty Scurvics is one of New Orleans' most theatrical talents (which is really saying something!), and he has a long musical history with vocalist Meschiya Lake.
OTHER STUFF
On Friday, the New Orleans Film Society, the Louisiana State Museum and the Louisiana Museum Foundation present the local premiere of Tchoupitoulas, a New Orleans-shot film that garnered acclaim during this year's SXSW. It will be shown at the Old U.S. Mint at 8:30 p.m. with $3 tickets for NOFS and Friends of the Cabildo members; general admission tickets are $6. Little Freddie King will play before the screening starting at 8.
Tales of the Cocktails is a yearly celebration of fine drinking and cocktail culture, and while it officially starts on Wednesday at the Hotel Monteleone and around the Quarter and CBD, there is a short slate of early bird events beginning Tuesday afternoon. Tales of the Cocktails has become the international Gathering of the Cocktail Tribe for tastings, talks and events oriented toward those who drink for taste more than to get messed up. Earlier this week, The Who announced their 2012 North American tour and the band documentary, Quadrophenia - Can You See the Real Me?. The film will show in theaters nationwide Tuesday; in New Orleans, the Elmwood Palace 20 will show the movie at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.
Finally, it's sad to hear that rapper B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Thursday after he pled guilty to gun possession and obstruction of justice charges.
