My Spilt Milk has free tickets to see The Hot 8 Brass Band Sunday night at The Howlin' Wolf's Den.
This month, My Spilt Milk is pleased to present The Hot 8 Brass Band on Sunday nights in The Howlin' Wolf's Den. They have one of the most dramatic stories in brass band lore, as Matt Sakakeeny documented in his story in The Oxford American's 2012 music issue (story's only in the magazine - sorry). Last year, they released The Life and Times of ... on the British Tru Thoughts label. The album presents the energy you'd expect along with some creative arrangements that likely slip by unnoticed during a second line.
