Last time they were in New Orleans, they recorded at The Music Box; Sunday they play tracks from their new album, Eat Like Lisa Act Like Bart. Benefitting local non-profits, including The Louisiana Children's Museum and New Orleans Public Library, Irvin Mayfield and the Jazz Playhouse Revue perform at this year's Love Sessions, a series of concerts from August 23 through 29, starting at 8:30 p.m. In previous years, the shows included featured special guests; this year, guests are promised for the shows, which will be part of a live recording.
The Fifth Annual Culture Collision, a gathering of New Orleans non-profit and visual arts organizations, takes place this Wednesday, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Generations Hall. An afterparty will be held from 8 to 10 p.m., with musical guest Morning 40 Federation.
