The contemporary music festival returns to City Park on a larger footprint this Halloween weekend.

The 17th edition of the Voodoo Music Experience presents perhaps its most eccentric top-line talent when it returns to City Park’s Festival Grounds October 30 to November 1. Florence + The Machine will headline, along with Diplo and Skrillex’s trap team-up Jack Ü, Ozzy Osbourne featuring Geezer Butler, Tom Morello and Slash, Jane’s Addiction, Zac Brown Band, and Deadmau5.

Some of the more interesting bookings include Modest Mouse, rapper Joey Bada$$ sharing a stage with The Soul Rebels, Americana singer Ryan Bingham, electronic/acoustic pop band Hundred Waters, disco and dance music pioneer Giorgio Moroder, Django Django, the reunited female grunge band Babes in Toyland, and Houma-based blues-rock duo Baby Bee. The most improbable choice is the pop country Zac Brown Band, which has quietly become one of the nation’s top drawing bands—one that gained some rock cred when Dave Grohl produced them and included them in The Foo Fighters’ Sonic Highways project.

One change this year is that there is no camping. According to a Voodoo spokesman, it has been discontinued so that the festival can enlarge its footprint. 

Weekend credentials for Voodoo will go on sale Tuesday, June 23 at Voodoo’s website with three-day general admission credentials for $150 and weekend-long Loa VIP credentials for $500. Pre-sale tickets are $25 cheaper for general admission and $150 cheaper for Loa VIP credentials, and they are available through Tuesday, June 23 at 11 a.m. Central Time through Citiprivatepass.com; LiveNation.com, Fuse.tv, Zippo's Facebook page and Twitter feed, as well as Voodoo's Facebook page and Twitter feed. The Voodoo Payment Plan allows buyers to break up their purchases into five equal installments.
