Friday: Anders Osborne’s 2nd annual Holiday Spectacular, 10 p.m., Tipitina’s: Osborne and friends kick off the holiday season once again with a two-night concert series. He has lined up some heavy hitters including Luther Dickinson and Paul Barrere, and each night features a different group of special guests for two unique shows. (tickets). Thursday: WNOE’s Christms Jam starring Kacey Musgraves, 8 p.m., House of Blues: Musgraves, a former contestant on the singing competition, Nashville Star, is the new favorite country artist of people who don't normally like country on the strength of her fourth studio album, Same Trailer Different Park (tickets). Cajun French, indie pop band, Sweet Crude, celebrate the release of their new EP with fellow New Orleans, indie staples Big History and Luxley, Friday, 10 p.m. at One Eyed Jacks.

Musical mad scientist supervillains Consortium of Genius have been merging Morgus and musical comedy for 20 years now, and they'll have a Crisis on Infinite Earths-like gathering of past, present and future COG members at their 20th Anniversary Temporal Meltdown, Friday, 9 p.m. at Hangar 13.

Comedian Nick Kroll, known for work on VH1's Best Week Ever, The League, and his sketch comedy series Kroll Show, performs Saturday night at the Civic Theatre (tickets). 

Saturday night, the women of NOLAW (New Orleans Ladies Arm Wrestling) battle it out at One Eyed Jacks.

The infamous but always hilarious Air Sex National Championships return to New Orleans Saturday, 11:30 p.m. at the House of Blues, taking the concept of "air guitar" to a whole new level of weird.

Monday night, La Nuit Comedy Theater hosts a free screening of A Band Called Death, a rockumentary that chronicles the story of the world's first black (or first ever) punk band formed by three teenage brothers in the early 70's, and their surprise success over three decades later.

Legendary filmmaker, John Waters, comes to the Civic Theatre, Tuesday night, to perform his critically acclaimed, one-man show, A John Waters Christmas, a rapid-fire monologue where the "Pope of Trash" shares his favorite holiday horror stories, and explores all things smutty regarding the beloved holiday.
