a look ahead to shows by The Lumineers, Sleigh Bells, Matt and Kim, The Afghan Whigs and more; and new music from Tame Impala, A.C. Newman, Bad Books and more.

This Week's Spotify Soundtrack is a journey from Mancini in the '70s to Luke Winslow-King from this year evoking the years before before that.

This Week's Soundtrack:

1. "Mystery Movie Theme" - Henry Mancini: The opening theme for the TV series, notable for the great theremin use.

2. "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" - Tame Impala: From the new album, Lonerism.

3. "The Micro Disneycal World Tour" - Cornelius: Electronic psychedelia from his Fantasma album, brought to mind by Tame Impala.

4. "I'm Not Talking" - A.C. Newman: I knew I'd regret writing on Facebook that I didn't hear Newman's new Shut Down the Streets after first listen. Now I wonder what was wrong with my skull.

5. "Waving Scientist @ Frog King" - eX-Girl: This Japanese trio is still one of the strangest things I've seen at SXSW.

6. "Forest Whitaker" - Bad Books: From the new II. The group formed by Kevin Devine and members of Manchester Orchestra play the House of Blues' Parish Tuesday

7. "Long Time" - Ying Yang Twins with Anthony Hamilton: From United States of Atlanta, with Anthony Hamilton singing the Al Green hook.

8. "Crush" - Sleigh Bells: Sleigh Bells will be at the House of Blues Monday.

9. "Let's Go" - Matt & Kim: The dance rock duo plays the House of Blues Thursday.

10. "True Love Travels on a Gravel Road" - The Afghan Whigs: From Uptown Avondale. They'll be at Tipitina's Friday.

11. "We the People Who are Darker Than Blue" - Curtis Mayfield: I have always associated Mayfield with the Afghan Whigs after the band opened its infamous Thanksgiving show at the Howlin' Wolf with "(If There's Hell Below) We're All Going to Go."

12. "My God is Real" - Al Green

13. "Do Do Wap is Strong in Here" - Curtis Mayfield

14. "Bitch Betta Have My Money" - Brian Jack: Jack will play Zydeco Night Thursday at the Rock 'n' Bowl.

15. "John the Baptist" - The Afghan Whigs

16. "In Memory of Satan" - The Mountain Goats: From their new Transcendental Youth.

17. "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings" - Father John Misty: The artist formerly known as Josh Tillman plays One Eyed Jacks Wednesday.

18. "Haunted John" - Jimbo Mathus: Mathus and the Tri-State Coalition play Chickie Wah Wah Saturday.

19. Submarines" - The Lumineers: The Colorado-based folk-rock band plays the House of Blues Tuesday.

20. "Staying in Town" - Luke Winslow-King: Winslow-King plays the House of Blues' Songwriter Showcase Wednesday. We had a really good conversation in the first of the My Spilt Milk podcasts
