Saturday local indie rock bands play their own music and seasonal songs at the Publq House in a benefit for CASA New Orleans.

Saturday night, NOLA Polar Express returns to The Publiq House to celebrate the season the indie way. This year's show features the reunited Barisal Guns, The Wooden Wings, Hello Nomad and Bantam Foxes, and they'll play a combination of their own songs and Christmas songs for the occasion.

In the past, The Wooden Wings have recorded a number of Christmas songs--available on their Bandcamp page--and this year, Bantam Foxes followed up on their Loser EP with the entertaining, rocking new single "I'm Too Broke for Christmas," in which the singer wants Santa to help with the bills more than he wants other presents.

Neither Hello Nomad or Barisal Guns have any seasonal recordings, but Barisal Guns did get back together to record a new album, which is on sale now at Bandcamp.

The show is a fundraiser for CASA New Orleans, which helps provide support and advocacy for abused children. Tickets are $10 or $5 with a toy.
