This week's Freshly Spilt Milk features first listens to new music by RL Grime, Jaill, Grammatik & Luxas, and Morrissey en Español.
1. Sylvan Esso - "H.S.K.T." (Hercules and Love Affair Bleeps and Vox Mix): Sylvan Esso has released H.S.K.T., a collection of mixes and a cappellas that is out digitally now and will be available on vinyl on August 21. The duo have also posted tracks for fans to do their own remixes at the H.S.K.T. website.
2. Lane 8 - "Ghost" feat. Patrick Baker (Audion Remix): Audion's remix puts a tribal groove behind Patrick Baker's haunted vocal.
3. Kodak to Graph - "IAMANTHEM" (Slow Magic Remix): The Slow Magic remix helps Kodak to Graph shake off some of its dream pop languor and get to the dance floor.
4. Public Service Broadcast - "Go!" (Louis LaRoche Remix): "Go!" is so light it's in danger of being tied to a string and used to celebrate a children's birthday, but the spry insistent electro-disco also plays nicely with the track's found vocals.
5. RL Grime - "Scylla" (King Henry Remix): Tuesday, RL Grime released VOID Remixes. This track by rising star King Henry is one.
6. DJ Firmeza - Somos Todos Malucos": A release from an entry in the Cargaa EP series, which is due out Tuesday. The series documents the electronic dance music scene blowing up in Lisbon.
7. Grammatik & Luxas - "Corporate Demons": The ridiculously prolific Grammatik returns with a single from his upcoming Epigram EP, which is due out in June.
8. Zeds Dead - "Lost You" feat. Twin Shadow and D'Angelo Lacy (Kove Remix): This house music track has been around for a while, but it is included on Zeds Dead's Something Else Remixes, which was released Tuesday.
9. Michael Vidal - "Dreams (Come Back to Me)": This sweetly fragile, summery pop song is the first single from Vidal's Dream Center, due out June 9.
10. Mexrrissey - "Everyday Like Sunday": Morrissey will start his North American tour June 11 at the Saenger Theatre. Recently, The Guardian ran a story about Latinos' affection for Morrissey, and here is a Spanish-language cover of "Everyday is Sunday."
11. Jaill - "Got an F": This Milwaukee rock band has the urgency and melodic sensibility of power pop's greatest generation and a very modern, rowdy, casual interest in musical niceties. The song is a single from Brain Cream, the band's fourth album, due out June 30.
12. Lee Bains and the Glory Fires - "Sweet Disorder": Last year, Bains and I had a good talk about his mixed feelings about growing up southern, and creating a version of southern rock that was more punk than Outlaws. This new song will be released as a 7-inch single July 24.
13. Sweet Spirit and Britt Daniel - "Paper Tiger": Austin's Sweet Spirit is about to go on tour opening for Spoon, and here they team with Spoon's lead singer to remake a Spoon song from 2002's Kill the Moonlight.
