Voodoo Has a Question Mark
The festival scheduled for Halloween weekend deals with Green Day's cancellation.
According to an announcement released this morning:
“We, like everyone, were looking forward to having Green Day back at Voodoo,” says Stephen Rehage, the founder/producer of VOODOO. “Their 2004 performance was one of the festival’s greatest. We are obviously disappointed in the news, but realize the health and well being of Billie Joe is the most important thing right now. We wish him and the entire Green Day family the best and offer them our full support.”
Green Day's cancellation left The Voodoo Experience with a substantial hole in its Saturday night lineup because the band was scheduled for a lengthy show with little competition on other stages during its performance. At the moment, a question mark appears on the slot on the Voodoo schedule that Green Day once occupied, so a replacement has yet to be booked. The day still features the French arena-EDM duo Justice, Toots and the Maytals, Silversun Pickups, AWOLNATION, Anders Osborne and Monk Boudreaux, MyNameIsJohnMichael and more. The other headliners - Neil Young and Crazy Horse on Friday, Jack White on Sunday - remain unchanged.
