Tipitinas.TV Presents a Virtual Mardi Gras Film Festival

Tipitinas.TV gives us a way to celebrate a socially distanced Fat Tuesday and the weekend before it.
The success of house floats shows that New Orleanians have embraced alternatives to a conventional Carnival. Tipitina’s and Tipitinas.TV will offer a way to celebrate New Orleans’ musical culture during the days leading up to Mardi Gras with “King Cake & a Movie.”
King Cake & a Movie is a free virtual film festival that will begin on Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m. Central CST on Tipitina’s.TV and continue on Sunday and Fat Tuesday. The free movie marathon features some of New Orleans’ most recognizable musicians, and clips from Tipitina’s archives to immerse viewers in New Orleans’ musical culture.
The “king cake” in the title comes from Bywater Bakery. Customers who order a king cake through the link on the Tipitinas.TV page will receive free shipping, and those who use the promo code SAVETIPS at checkout will send a portion of their purchase to Tipitina’s.
