The Revelers Don't Want to Grow Up
The Revelers play d.b.a. Thursday night; here's a preview of the new EP by the swamp pop supergroup.
[Updated] Last October, The Red Stick Ramblers announced that they were officially calling it quits. Many of the members still play together, now as The Revelers with members of The Pine Leaf Boys and the Malfecteurs. On July 15, they'll release a new EP, The Revelers Play the Swamp Pop Classics.
Thursday night, they'll play d.b.a., and we have a preview of the EP - their version of the Bobby Charles classic, "Before I Grow Too Old" - a song also recorded by Fats Domino, Tommy McLain, and has been part of Elvis Costello sets.
