Sunday at French Quarter Festival
Our picks for the day.
I've had to clean up water that blew in the house already today, which doesn't bode well for the final day of this year's French Quarter Festival. Margaret Orr says the worst has cleared, but there's an 80 percent chance of rain for the rest of the day, and even if it holds off, green spaces are going to be soggy spaces after last night and this morning's rain. That's too bad because there's a lot to like on today's lineup.
If the weather continues as it has, one of the most popular places could be the Old U.S. Mint. WWNO's Fred Kasten will interview Al "Carnival Time" Johnson at 11:30 a.m., Tim Laughlin at 12:30 p.m., Connie Jones at 1:30 and Don Vappie at 2:30. Michael Tisserand will talk with BeauSoleil's Michael Doucet and Mitch Reed at 2:30, and this year's film festival will conclude at 5 p.m. with a screening of King James and the Special Men's "Love My Baby" and Where Y'at, a film by Timecode: NOLA and 15 local directors.
Here are our picks for the day - not necessarily the best, but you don't need us to tell you about some people.
