Soul Rebels, Tank and the Bangas, AF the Naysayer Play the New Orleans Music Awards
Tickets are on sale now for My Spilt Milk's first foray into the world of music awards April 7 at The Howlin' Wolf.
It seems only appropriate that on the day of the Iowa Caucuses My Spilt Milk announces that fans of music in New Orleans will have yet another chance to have their say. In December, we announced that this would be the first year for My Spilt Milk’s New Orleans Music Awards, and now we can announce that the event will take place Thursday, April 7 at The Howlin’ Wolf. The Soul Rebels will play a hip-hop set, and we’ll also have performances by Tank and the Bangas, AF the Naysayer and more. Our host will be comedian Andrew Polk, and we have a few more twists to announce over the course of the next month or so.
There is no shortage of awards for New Orleans musicians, but there is also no shortage of musicians who merit attention. We hope that with the New Orleans Music Awards, we can add something to the conversation by how we frame the questions and by the nature of the event. We envision a night that honors the people who are making a difference but is still fun in the way that a night of live music is fun—a little irreverent, a little raucous, a little smartass, and a little bit subversive.
Voting will begin after Mardi Gras, but tickets are on sale now. We’re looking forward to the night and hope you’ll be there to join us.
