Carnival is underway, and This Week's Soundtrack highlights some of the many Mardi Gras shows happening this week.

This Week's Soundtrack on Spotify

1. "Blank Project" - Neneh Cherry: From the album of the same name, the first solo release from the Swedish artist in 18 years.

2. "Christiansands" - Tricky: Cherry's occasional collaborator, the UK musical chameleon best known for genre-bending trip hop, on his 1996 Pre-Millennium Tension.

3. "Huey Newton" - St. Vincent: A cut inspired by staying awake on Ambien, off Annie Clark's fourth solo album as St. Vincent. The sell-titled work finds the singer/guitarist at her most experimental and her most accessible.

4. "Black Out Days" - Phantogram: The Greenwich duo craft foreboding but indelible pop tunes on its latest, Voices. Phantogram plays the upcoming Buku Music + Arts Festival.

5. "Frozen Stiff" - K-Holes: From the lo-fi New Yorkers' 2012 album Dismania. Band member Vashti Windish DJs for Quintron and Miss Pussycat and a new project from TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone tonight at One Eyed Jacks.

6. "Give Blood" - Rain Machine: Malone's other side project, which released a self-titled debut in 2009.

7. "The Janitor Revealed"- Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks: Off the '90s slacker rock icon's sixth album with the Jicks, released in January. The group plays Thursday at House of Blues.

8. "Heart is a Drum" - Beck: The genre-hopping artist revisits his softer side on his latest, Morning Phase.

9. "Red Eyes" - The War on Drugs: The Philly band with a not-so-Google-friendly name this month releases its latest album of hazy Americana once branded as Bruce Springsteen before going into a kush coma. "Red Eyes" is the sole release from Lost in the Dream thus far.

10. "Northern Sky" - Nick Drake: From the late folk rock legend's 1970 album Bryter Later.

11. "DIvebomber" - Neil Finn: New Zealand's Finn, known for his time in Split Enz and Crowded House, released a solo album in February, featuring this gravity-defying cut.

12. "(You Will) Set the World on Fire" - David Bowie: Another art rock auteur, with Bowie's 2013 album The Next Day.

13. "High Heel Leather Boots" - Baby Bee: Off 2013's The Shaker, the New Orleans rockers play a Lundi Gras show tonight at Circle Bar with Bantam Foxes and Prom Date.

14. "I'm a Rocket" - Spinout: From the 1991 self-titled  (maybe?) joke album, the L.A. garage rock quartet's only release.

15. "True Love Kills the Fairy Tale" - The Casket Girls: The Savannah, Georgia, electronic trio featuring a sister pair play Cricle Bar March 18. This is the self-titled track from Casket Girls' latest, out last month.

16. "Hanging Johnny" - The Valparaiso Men's Chorus: From the New Orleans collective's 2012 album, The Straits of Saint Claude. The group plays Saturn Bar tonight.

17. "Goldenshteyn Hora" - Panorama Brass Band: Another Lundi Gras show from a local group, this one at Gasa Gasa. This track is from Panorama Brass Band's 2011 album 17 Days.

18. "6V6 LA" - George Porter Jr. and Runnin' Pardners: The New Orleans bass player and his crew play a March 10 gig at The Maple Leaf Bar.

19. "Nolia Clap" - UTP (Juvenile, Wacko Skip): Title track off the late New Orleans rap trio's 2004 album.

20. "Collard Greens" - Schoolboy Q feat. Kendrick Lamar: Kendrick Lamar is used to stealing the spotlight on most tracks he's guested on lately, but don't forget about Schoolboy Q's latest album Oxymoron, featuring this cut. Schoolboy Q plays Buku later this month.

21. "I Go in on Every Song" - Rich Homie Quan: The Atlanta rapper is on track for a quick ascent into mainstream hip hop stardom, but not before he stops at Mardi Gras World for a Fat Tuesday show.
