Freret Fest Postponed but Loyola Acts Play Gasa Gasa Saturday
The Planet of the Little Green Men
Freret Fest was scheduled for Saturday, but a weekend forecast that includes heavy rains and high winds prompted organizers to postpone the event until the Fall. Now, it will take place on November 1.
Students from Loyola’s College of Music and Media’s Festival Production course had planned an afternoon of programming on the festival’s Valence Stage, with performances by students capped by a set by Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph with guest Nigel Hall. Since the festival has been performed, the acts scheduled to play have moved to the recently reopened Gasa Gasa, where they’ll play from noon to 5 p.m. Joseph and Hall will not be joining them.
The lineup of emerging acts include rock, pop, hip-hop and singer/songwriters. Here’s a preview.
