Saturday: Soul Track Mind, The Topcats, 8:30 p.m., Rock ’n’ Bowl: Austin’s Soul Track Mind continues the wave of retro soul, convincingly writing and playing in the mode of ‘60s R&B and funk. Blue-eyed soul singer Donovan Keith makes them personality. Tuesday: Hard Girls, Broadcaster, All People, Donovan Wolfington, 9 p.m., Gasa Gasa: Punk band Hard Girls hit, well, hard on A Thousand Surfaces, and while Jesse Michaels’ hoarse shout can sound like punk’s version of metal’s cookie monster vocal cliché, he also breaks from it at times and sounds genuinely vulnerable and emotionally engaged. Thursday: Bishop Allen, Jesse Marchant, 9 p.m., The Beatnik: The Harvard-educated indie rock band Bishop Allen makes attractive pop songs. You can argue that the band should show more ambition, but its summery sound is hard to argue with. Saturday night, the Krewe of O.A.K. will hold its Mid Summer Mardi Gras parade, which starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Maple Leaf Bar. It’ll take Oak to Carrollton, then go up Carrollton to Palmer Park, where it will turn around and head back. Festivities will start at 7.
