Thursday: Star and Dagger, R. Scully's Rough 7, 10 p.m., Tipitina's: The hard rocking women of Star and Dagger release their debut album, Tomorrowland Blues, at Tip's (tickets). Also on Thursday: Plain White T's, The Wind and The Wave, West Without, 8 p.m., House of Blues' Parish (tickets)

One of many victims during the Mother's Day second line shooting, writer Deborah Cotton, is finally on the road to recovery. In an effort to raise money for her medical bills, It's a Love Thing: A Benefit Love-Fest for Deborah Cotton will be held Friday, 10 p.m., at Gasa Gasa. The $10 cover includes music from DJ Soul Sister, complimentary food from Boucherie, raffles, and a live painting and art show. One hundred percent of admission fees and 30 percent of art sales will be contributed to her fund. 

Grab a free printed T-shirt and enjoy a personal photoshoot at the first ever Dirty Coast Fest at The Rusty Nail, Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sponsored by the New Orleans T-shirt staple, the event will include music from Sweet Crude and Alexis & the Samurai, as well as food from La Cocinita food truck and Hansen's Sno-Bliz.
