This Week's Soundtrack looks forward to upcoming shows from the Hold Steady, Kevin Gates and Deltron 3030.

This Week's Soundtrack on Spotify

1. "Spinners" - The Hold Steady: Fists will surely be in the air for these Brooklyn indie rock legends who play Hogs for the Cause this weekend at City Park. The band releases sixth studio album Teeth Dreams, featuring this track, on Tuesday.

2. "San Francisco" - The Mowgli's: Continuing down the anthemic rock track, this time with a dose of horns courtesy of the group which plays Parish Room on Sunday.

3. "I'll Be Your Mirror" - The Velvet Underground and Nico: Singer/songwriter Susan Cowsill will take on the daunting task of covering this legendary album on Thursday at Chickie Wah Wah.

4. "Small Town Heroes" - Hurray for the Riff Raff: The local folk darling, still riding the success of its 2014 release, also plays Hogs for the Cause this weekend.

5. "Come On, Illinois" - Houndmouth: Another Hogs act, this time out of Louisville, Kentucky.

6. "F is for Faker" - Team Me: The Norwegian indie pop act returns this year with this new single, following 2011 debut album To the Treetops!

7. "Extended Niceties" - Peter Gordon & Love of Life Orchestra: A once lost, but now found dance record from the legendary DFA, with this track and the self-titled album reissued in 2010.

8. "Primary" - VNV Nation: The UK electro-rockers released Transational last year, and follow up with a tour that stops at One Eyed Jacks on Tuesday.

9. "Let's All Chant" - The Michael Zager Band: An all-time disco standout from the famed producer's 1978 album with his band.

10. "2 the Floor" (feat. TWRK) - Kid Kamillion: The title track from New Orleans' DJ's late 2013 EP.

11. "Woman of Substance - Awuwan Itiaba" - Ibibio Sound Machine: This London electronic music collective explores West African music and its fusion with disco, dance and funk on its latest self-titled release from January.

12. "Hell of a Night" - Schoolboy Q: The up-and-coming rapper played Buku this weekend after a plane delay moved his set time, but he still made it in time to play his new album Oxymoron and more for the festival crowd.

13. "Brainz" - Sex Party: The provocatively named New Orleans rap duo play Gasa Gasa on Wednesday with Prom Date and Selfawarewolf.

14. "Pay the Price" - Deltron 3030: One of the best kept secrets (kind of) in rap, the collective headed by Del tha Funkee Homosapien plays the House of Blues on Saturday, following the release of second studio album Event 2 last year, featuring this track.

15. "Reflections" - MisterWives: Supporting the Mowgli's at Sunday's show is this NYC act, with this title track from its debut EP.

16. "Get Up on My Level" - Kevin Gates: The Baton Rouge rapper has seen success but still hasn't broken into the mainstream, and he plays the Howlin' Wolf on Thursday.

17. "Low Dogg" - Micachu and the Shapes: The art pop/punk funk oddballs played a New Orleans show in 2012 in support of Animal Collective, and more recently scored the soundtrack for a creepy new Scarlett Johansson film, Under the Skin.

18. "Bells" - Perfect Pussy: This noise punk outfit has been riding major buzz since 2013's CMJ up until this year's SXSW, and its debut Say Yes to Love has scored well with critics. It's not clear, though, if anyone is yet comfortable with bringing up the band's name in casual conversation.

19. "CIty's Full" - Savages: Closing with 2013's noise rock godsend, whose debut Silence Yourself is still a jarring and potent work almost a year after its release.
