IndyCar driver Graham Rahal reacts to the announcement of the planned race for 2015 at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale.

"Our drivers are the most versatile drivers in the world," Graham Rahal said from a room overlooking the 2.75-mile track at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale. Recently, IndyCar committed to grand prix-style races there from 2015 through 2017, and Rahal was in New Orleans Tuesday to check out the track, give the owners some feedback on tweaks to the track that would make it a better IndyCar track, and to help promote the event.

At this point, most of the details on the race remain unsettled. Track owner Laney Chouest thinks it will be in either March or June - not too close to Jazz Fest but before hurricane season.

During the press conference, Rahal talked about New Orleans as a draw, IndyCar as a race, and working with team owner David Letterman and his father, Bobby Rahal.
