Yesterday was a good day for The Revivalists' Dave Shaw, who starred in both new videos.

Naughty Professor has followed in Galactic’s footsteps by establishing itself first as an instrumental funk band—one unafraid to show off its significant chops. Early next year, it will release its upcoming album, Identity, and for the occasion the band has branched out into the world of words. Chali 2na and The Revivalists’ Dave Shaw added their vocal talents to songs on the album, and the first single, “Stray,” features a passionate performance from Shaw.

Yesterday, Naughty Professor released the video for “Stray.” The same day, The Revivalists also released a live video for “It Was a Sin” from the upcoming vinyl album, Strangers in the Bright Lights, which will be in stores Friday for National Record Store Day. The album and video were recorded in concert at Tipitina’s earlier this year.

Naughty Professor will be back in New Orleans to play The Maple Leaf December 10, while The Revivalists will play The Orpheum on New Year’s Eve.
