Jazz Fest: Saturday, April 25 at Jazz Fest

Our guide to a very busy day at Jazz Fest.

One of my measures of a Jazz Fest set is whether or not it holds me until the end. There is usually so much going on that I want to see that if I see a whole set, it means someone gave me a compelling reason not to move. Today, someone is going to have to be amazing because there are so many sets I hope to see at least part of.

Once again, I have posted a downloadable, color-coded schedule for you to take with you to Jazz Fest. Blue sets are ones I hope to see--and after reviewing Cassandra Wilson's album, I should have colored that in too--and orange acts are New Orleans/Louisiana acts that should be on your radar.

Once again, I encourage you get to the Economy Hall Tent and the Gospel Tent at least once a day, and don't sleep on the Allison Miner Music Heritage Stage. 4:30 p.m. is a punishing time, but Mannie Fresh is hip-hop royalty, and I'd love to hear his stories.

We're still working out the kinks on the download and appreciate your patience as we fine tune it. By next Saturday, we'll have this wired!
