Have Yourself a Flexi Little Christmas

Kishi Bashi has released a benefit Christmas song on flexi-disc and mp3.

Kishi Bashi played New Orleans twice this year, once opening for Of Montreal at the Howlin' Wolf on the way to SXSW, and once early in the fall at the Circle Bar. These days, it's hard not to hear him almost daily on television as his "Bright Whites" is the soundtrack for the omnipresent Windows 8 ad. He'll conclude his winter tour in New Orleans at One Eyed Jacks on March 9.

In the spirit of the season, he has released a Christmas song for us on a rainy afternoon, "It's Christmas, But it's Not White Here in Our Town." Joyful Noise is selling 1000 white, hand-numbered, snowflake-shaped flexi-discs of the song on a pay-what-you-want basis. Purchase of the flexi includes an mp3 download as well, and it benefits Ear Candy Music Charity.

Between now and his return to town, Kishi Bashi will release more than 20 short acoustic works written for Kickstarter backers. They'll be posted every Thursday at noon EST at Soundcloud.com, with only 100 downloads available.
