Foo Fighters, Kendrick, LCD Soundsystem and DJ Snake Top Voodoo 2017 Lineup
The annual Halloween weekend festival in City Park with The Killers, Dillon Francis, Galantis and more.
Last week, Foo Fighters made news when out of the blue they released the single “Run,” and made more when its video was viewed 2.2 million times in the first 24 hours. Today, they’re in the news again as they’re slated to return to the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience, along with Kendrick Lamar, The Killers, LCD Soundsystem and DJ Snake.
Voodoo will take place the weekend before Halloween—October 27-29—in New Orleans’ City Park on the Festival Grounds, where last year festival organizers solved its soundbleed issues. In previous years, the smaller stages had to contend with the omnipresent thump of Le Plur’s electronic dance music and the roar of the bigger bands on the main stage. The new map helped, as did staggering performances so that the side stages were dark when someone performed on the Ritual Stage. The reduced competition for festivalgoers’ attention translated to better crowds at all the shows.

Weekend passes for Voodoo will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. starting at $140 for general admission. The LOA VIP passes cost $400, and this year’s Platinum package makes the festival experience as luxurious as organizers can manage for $1050. This year’s Voodoo will also kick off on Thursday night with Feast Under the Stars, an outdoor dinner party on the Voodoo grounds with wines paired with dishes prepared by Aarón Sánchez of Johnny Sánchez, Martha Wiggins of Sylvain, John Bel of Meauxbar, Nathan Richard of Cavan, and Kyle Knall of Kentons and Maysville. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 as well.
