New Orleans is taking a quieter week after Mardi Gras and Super Bowl, but that doesn't mean we've shuttered the clubs and started watching television.

New Orleans takes a quieter week after Mardi Gras and Super Bowl.

Friday: Cedric Watson and Bijou Creole, 10 p.m., d.b.a.: Grammy-nominated fiddler Cedric Watson has spent his musical career exploring his Creole heritage, and Bijou Creole is his most eclectic musical adventure, merging South Louisiana music with island sounds.

Saturday: New Jack Swing Valentine Jam w/ Guy, Tony! Toni! Tone!, SWV, Al B. Sure, Dru Hill, 8 p.m., UNO Lakefront Arena: Yes, it's all old school, but there's some enduring talent in that lineup. Think of it as an alternative Gretna Fest. (tickets): Also on Saturday: Yeasayer DJ set, Force Feed Radio, Swiss Chriss, Christoph Andersson, 9 p.m., Eiffel Society; Tift Merritt, 9 p.m., Chickie Wah Wah; The Sexual Side Effects, 10 p.m., Circle Bar;  (tickets); Blind Texas Marlin, White Colla Crimes, Steve Eck, 10 p.m., One Eyed Jacks (tickets)

Sunday: Ziggy Marley, 8:30 p.m., House of Blues: This year's Grammy Awards featured an eccentric tribute to Bob Marley that started without reggae or Marley courtesy of Bruno Mars, then detoured to Police-reggae with Sting before finally getting right with Ziggy and Damian Marley. (tickets) Also on Sunday: The Hot 8 Brass Band, 10 p.m., The Howlin' Wolf's Den (tickets); Talib Kweli & Res' Idle Warship, Ciel Rouge, The Love Experiment, Erika Flowers, 9 p.m., The Eiffel Society

Tuesday: Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, The Quickening, 10 p.m., The Howlin' Wolf: Sister Sparrow was one of the acts people talked about after their set at Voodoo this year. The band shows equal love for classic rock and '60s R&B. (tickets

Thursday: Kid Rock, Buckcherry, Hellbound Glory, 7:30 p.m., New Orleans Arena: When Kid Rock last played Jazz Fest, he spent half the set trying to say that he's an average guy by borrowing from the Bob Seger songbook. The other half proved there's nothing average about him, as material from his first few albums demonstrated. (tickets) Also on Thursday: Caspian, Junius, Aiua, 10 p.m., Siberia (tickets); Chris Thomas King, 6 p.m., Ogden Museum of Southern Art
