The lineup for the Wednesday night free concert series was announced today.

"You can't go more than few days in New Orleans without running into a festival or a party," City Council President Stacy Head said at the press conference to unveil the lineup for the YLC's Wednesday at the Square concert series. The Young Leadership Council has been involved with the free concert series in Lafayette Square since 2000, and this year's lineup includes a number of artists who regularly play the series including Marcia Ball, who will perform on March 27. This season's closing concert artist has yet to be announced, and the name is being withheld until the May 8 concert with Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, when it will be revealed.

This year's series starts with Anders Osborne and features a number of touring bands including Col. Bruce Hampton, The Mother Hips, and Eric McFadden, who'll be joined by Bernie Worrell, Luther Dickinson, and the local rhythm section of Eric Bolivar and Robert Mercurio. Dave Jordan will open the show, and he closed the press conference at Mike's on the Avenue by performing his song, "The Biggest Little Shrimp in Town."
