"10 Years Stronger" Highlights Changes in the Saints

Mercedes-Benz remembers a decade as the dome's title sponsor during a rough year for the Saints.

From the “I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue” department:

Mercedes-Benz has had unfortunate timing with its “10 Years Stronger” promotion, which celebrates a decade with its name on the side of the Superdome. They’ve remembering 10 highlights from that period during this season’s home games, one per game. Unfortunately, during the Saints game against the Tennessee Titans—their most recent home game—revisiting Garrett Hartley’s field goal in the NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings that sent the Saints to the Super Bowl primarily served as a reminder of how far this year’s team is from that one. Hearing Jim Henderson’s emotional call summoned up a host of emotions that I haven’t exercised much this season. Tears of joy, for example, haven’t been much of a problem.

The series will continue today when the Saints host the still-undefeated Carolina Panthers at 3:25 p.m. Unless both teams change, it could be this afternoon’s high point again.

If you have Google Cardboard, visit "Mercedes-Benz Superdome" in the Google Street View app to see this photo in 3-D and appreciate just how large the dome feels from the floor.
