Win Weekend Credentials to Voodoo 2014

We've got a pair of weekend credentials to give away for the festival on the Halloween weekend in City Park.

[Updated] When the Voodoo Music Experience announced its headliners for this year's event on the Halloween weekend, OutKast didn't seem like quite as exciting a choice since reviews of their reunion show at Coachella were tepid. Later, Andre 3000 told The New York Times' Jon Caramanica that he wasn't ready for that show:

It was foreign. My head wasn’t there. I kind of fluffed through rehearsals. A few hours before the Coachella show, I get a message that Prince and Paul McCartney are going to be there. My spirit is not right, and idols are standing side-stage, so as the show started, I’m bummed. This is horrible. In my mind I was already gone to my hotel room halfway through. So Prince called a couple days after. It was my first time actually talking to Prince. He said: “When you come back, people want to be wowed. And what’s the best way to wow people? Just give them the hits.”

I’m explaining to him that I really didn’t want to do it. He said: “I’ve been there. I’ve tried to do other things. After you give them the hits, then you can do whatever.”

He broke it down like this: “You’re a grown man. You’re either going to do it or you’re not."

By Lollapalooza in mid-summer, the OutKast narrative was changing for those paying attention. According to Jason Lipshutz of Billboard:

In the fourth month of their grand festival tour, Outkast is now performing at the level that diehard fans were hoping they'd reach when the reunion was announced back in January. During their Lollapalooza headlining set on Saturday night (Aug. 2), the duo turned Chicago's Grant Park into a wide-reaching dance party with smiles plastered on their faces, as Andre 3000 and Big Boi at long last look like they're at home onstage with each other.

OutKast will play Halloween night at Voodoo on a day that will also include Zedd, Slayer, Action Bronson, Red Baraat, and The Soul Rebels. Saturday night, Arctic Monkeys will headline along with Skrillex, Big Freedia and Benjamin Booker; and Sunday night HBO TV stars Foo Fighters will close the last night of the festival, which will also feature Trombone Shorty, Pretty Lights, Quintron and Miss Pussycat and Gogol Bordello.

My Spilt Milk has a pair of weekend credentials with Loa Lounge access to give away Voodoo. Register here for a chance to win. The contest closes Wednesday, October 29 at noon.
