Voodoo Preview: Who to See Friday
Our picks for the day at Voodoo.
There's a lot to like on the first day of Voodoo this year. I've seen Americana duo Shovels and Rope three times in the last year and liked them more each time. They've played big rooms when they've opened for Jack White, so they likely know what to do with a festival stage - we'll find out what. Preservation Hall Jazz Band's Ben Jaffe recently told me that he's got some surprises up his sleeve for their set tomorrow, and Friend-of-Milk Brian Boyles wrote an intriguing profile of Hello Negro that made me want to see who it is and what he can do.
