Last Week: My Morning Jacket at Night
Friday night, My Morning Jacket played Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square, at Patrick Ainsworth brought back the pictures.
My Morning Jacket has developed a tight relationship with New Orleans. It has taken the Preservation Hall Jazz Band on tour, played the Hall, and singer Jim James sang with the band on its Preservation album. It has played the House of Blues and Tipitina's, Jazz Fest and Voodoo, and now Champions Square.
Recently, the band released its most recent album, The Waterfall, and when it played Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square last Friday night, songs from the album were understandably prominent. Still, the two-plus hours-long show Friday night reached back to the band's 1999 debut The Tennessee Fire for "Evelyn is Not Real."
Patrick Ainsworth was on hand to shoot the show. Here are his highlights. Click on the images to see them in a viewer.
