Funny or Die presents The Super Serious Show at One Eyed Jacks tonight. Here are previews of the comics performing.
It’s hard to believe that New Orleans was once considered a dead zone for comedy. I’ve heard comics talk about the challenge of holding the attention of drunken tourists (as if that’s all there is to New Orleans), but whatever the reason for the change, New Orleans now gets solid comedy shows on a very regular basis.
Sunday night, Marc Maron performed at the Joy, and tonight Funny or Die presents The Super Serious Show at One Eyed Jacks with Sean Patton, Aparna Nancherla, Drennon Davis and Kyle Kinane. This will be Kinane’s second time in New Orleans in months, and Sean Patton is from here and has performed regularly in New Orleans.
The Super Serious Show isn’t simply a stand-up night, though. The concept began in Los Angeles as a monthly one-stop for wide variety of comedy—sketch, video, and music comedy in addition to stand-up, all in a party atmosphere.
Here’s a quick preview of tonight’s show.
