Florence + The Machine, Jack Ü, Ozzy and Friends, Deadmau5 and More Headline Voodoo 2015

The 17th edition of the Voodoo Music Experience presents perhaps its most eccentric top-line talent when it returns to City Park’s Festival Grounds October 30 to November 1. Florence + The Machine will headline, along with Diplo and Skrillex’s trap team-up Jack Ü, Ozzy Osbourne featuring Geezer Butler, Tom Morello and Slash, Jane’s Addiction, Zac Brown Band, and Deadmau5.

Voodoo: Ms. Lauryn Hill Made Saturday Night About Her

[Updated] Saturday night at Voodoo was supposed to be about Arctic Monkeys, who were headlining the festival to the surprise of everyone except all the people who showed up for them. When the first talent lineup was rolled out, their name on the bill prompted speculation that Skrillex would be the first EDM artist to headline Voodoo’s main stage.

Adventure Club is Committed to 140 BPM

After waiting over an hour to be taken backstage to interview Adventure Club, I received a text from someone who introduced himself only as “Shaggy.” He told me to meet him to right of the stage if I wanted a chance to speak with the Canadian producers. I pushed through an eclectic, neon crowd and caught the eye of a man with a thick beard and an electric blue hat with the brim bent up. Shaggy waved me in and we hustled to the back of The Howlin Wolf. I was then introduced to Leighton James and Christian Srigley, the technically gifted producers that make up Adventure Club.

Voodoo: What's Black and Blue and White All Over?

Jack White's always interesting, which may be the definition of a rock star. His bands are all provocative, all different, and his antics are just eccentric enough to feed more-money-than-sense conversations. Carry two bands on tour? Expect interns at Third Man Records to dress in the label's color scheme? These reek of indulgence, but the resulting work consistently mitigates the eccentricities.

Voodoo Mathematics

The Voodoo Experience has released its final lineup, which now includes Nas, Coheed and Cambria, Vintage Trouble and another 20 bands for the festival, which this year takes place October 26-28. Neil Young and Crazy Horse will headline Friday night, Green Day and Justice top the bill Saturday, and Jack White and Skrillex close the festival on Sunday. This year's lineup is notable for the additional attention to Le Plur and Voodoo's EDM lineup, and the name change from The Bingo Parlour to Le Carnival, though New Orleans Bingo!
