Lil Uzi Vert, Illenium, Noname Round Out Buku Lineup

The Buku Music and Art Project rounded out its lineup yesterday with the addition of Lil Uzi Vert, Illenium, Noname and another handful of names. The festival takes place March 9-10 at Mardi Gras World, and this year it rolled out its lineup in three phases. Late last year, Bassnectar, Migos, MGMT and SZA were among the dance and hip-hop artists already announced.

Last Night: Chance the Rapper Held a Furry Convention at Mardi Gras World

Chance the Rapper has become America’s hip-hop sweetheart. From Kanye West to Rahm Emanuel to President Obama himself, everyone loves the guy. It’s not hard to see why. Chance is a positive (almost too positive) voice in a genre that often revels in violence and sexism. More importantly, he’s one of the only positive voices in hip-hop capable of actually connecting with an audience that's often skeptical of positivity.

Bassnectar, A$AP Rocky Top Buku 2015 Lineup

The Buku Music and Art Project returns to Mardi Gras World March 13 and 14, 2015, this time with Bassnectar and A$AP Rocky topping the bill. Buku’s lineup is once again dance-oriented, including EDM, indie rock and hip-hop artists including Passion Pit, Empire Of The Sun, Die Antwoord, Porter Robinson, TV on the Radio, STS9, Flosstradamus, G-Eazy, Tove Lo, Portugal. The Man, Boosie Badazz (formerly Lil’ Boosie), and more.
