The Voodoo Music and Arts Experience has released its day to day lineup with Mumford and Sons and Zeds Dead likely headlining the main stages—Le Ritual and Le Plur—on Friday, October 26 in City Park. How Does Jazz Fest Turn 50?

On a star power level, this year’s Jazz Fest was soft. Its biggest names play casinos and theaters, not arenas. David Byrne’s tour will play Saenger-like venues when he’s not booked at festivals. Jack White fit in the Saenger as last time he was in town, and it’s hard to imagine that the poorly received Boarding House Reach changed his draw for the better.

Aerosmith, David Byrne, Jack White Top the Jazz Fest Lineup

When the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival presented by Shell returns April 27 to the Fair Grounds, it will be with Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin, Sting, Jimmy Buffett and his Acoustic Airmen, Jack White, Beck, Lionel Richie, David Byrne, Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt, Khalid, Sturgill Simpson, Jack Johnson, Sheryl Crow, Common, and Cage the Elephant atop the lineup. Some of those aren’t news.

Foo Fighters, Kendrick, LCD Soundsystem and DJ Snake Top Voodoo 2017 Lineup

Last week, Foo Fighters made news when out of the blue they released the single “Run,” and made more when its video was viewed 2.2 million times in the first 24 hours. Tuesday morning, the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience will release its talent lineup for this year’s festival. Voodoo will take October 27-29 in City Park, and this will be the second year that C3 Presents will produce Voodoo, which benefited from a more focused lineup with a more intuitive layout last year that addressed previous years' soundbleed issues. At a time when even the festival’s good years felt provisional, Voodoo 2016 raised the possibility that a corner had been turned.
