Gleason Gras to Kick Off the Saints' Season

[Updated] In its first two years, Gleason Gras was plagued by rain that - *ahem* - dampened attendance. On Friday, Team Gleason and the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation present the event when it returns to Champions Square, this time doubling as a pep rally to start the 2013 season for the New Orleans Saints, who'll play the Atlanta Falcons Sunday at noon in the Superdome.

Trombone Shorty Joins Gleason Gras

Last year, former New Orleans Saint Steve Gleason announced that he was living with ALS, and Rehage Entertainment organized the inaugural Gleason Gras in Champions Square to raise money for the Gleason Initiative Foundation, which helps provide equpiment for those dealing with the condition. Gleason Gras returns to Champions Square Sunday for a show headlined by Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and, as announced yesterday, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.

Hell Yes to Gleason and More

[Updated] Last year, a cold rain took the edge off of the debut of Gleason Gras. This Sunday there remains a chance of rain, but the temperature should be in the 70s. Later in the week, The New Movement's Hell Yes Fest brings stand-up comics and improv groups to a number of venues in town. Here are the week's highlights:
