Anderson .Paak Didn't Need the Weather to Generate Heat at Champions Square

Anderson .Paak knows that his face is his money. He named the tour that brought him to Champions Square Saturday night “The Best Teef in the Game Tour,” and he showed off his fine set of choppers all show. His face is so important that he mounted a camera on his drum kit so that even when he was playing, we could see him. 

goHard Brings EDM to New Orleans During Jazz Fest

In a stark stroke of counterprogramming, Hard Events announced this morning that goHard, a night of EDM in Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square, will take place Saturday, May 2, during the last weekend of Jazz Fest. DJ Snake, Zeds Dead, Big Gigantic, Tchami, Rae Sremmurd, GTA, Destructo, and Wax Motif will perform a show that will be one of the first stops on a national tour that will continue into the summer.

Boudin and Emeril Everywhere

[Updated] Fans of celebrity chefs--whether nationally or locally famous--were made happy Friday night when two tents' worth of chefs from around the South participated in the Emeril Lagasse Foundation's Boudin, Bourbon, and Beer, which had grown big enough to move easily into Champions Square. The event is one of the foundation's two fundraisers, along with Carnivale du Vin, which took place Saturday night. 

Last Night: Sigur Ros Redefines Fun

People who went to Sigur Rós' show at Champions Square last night expecting fun probably went home a little unsatisfied. Perhaps it all depends on your definition of "fun." A generalized fun show usually involves dancing, singing along and having an all-together rowdy time. Thursday's technical, bombastic, impressive performance from the Icelandic post-rockers wasn't a show for that kind of fun.
