Quickie Mart has been collaborating with rapper Gotham Green on the Haze Diaries releases since 2009. Haze Diaries Vol. 4 will be available this August with guest spots by Freddie Gibbs, Wax, Grafh, T. Mills, Zeale, Casey Abrams and Jes Hudak. In the meantime, here's a track from the album for download, "Everything," featuring El Prez.

Also, on August 6, Lil Wayne announced that he was taking time off from rap to pursue his love of skateboarding. He told Atlanta's Hot 107.9:

I picked up the skateboard and I thought it'd be a hobby, and what happened is it's a lifestyle.... In order to be fully committed, you have to live that lifestyle. With these young kids now, you have to be about that life. It's kind of putting rap on the back burner. Rap is taking a backseat to skating. I believe my fans deserve some peace from me. I'll be on my skateboard in the meantime.

On August 1, he announced that he is partnering with Mountain Dew to sponsor a skate park in the Lower Ninth Ward that is scheduled to open on August 29.

Today, he and Mountain Dew have released the first webisode of DEWeezy, an online video series that seems to document his adventures with the Mountain Dew skateboarding team starting at SXSW. I don't doubt his passion for skateboarding, but after watching this video, I had the uneasy feeling that he has put his rap career on hold to sell Mountain Dew.
