This afternoon, many are getting ready for the second line in honor of "Uncle" Lionel Batiste. Details are now available about his funeral. There will be a public viewing Thursday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Charbonnet Funeral Home (1615 St. Philip St.). The funeral service will take place Friday, July 20 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts; viewing will start at 9 a.m., the service will start at 11. It will be followed by a jazz funeral procession. Batiste will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery (4100 Norman Mayer Blvd.).
