Another Spilt Milk Christmas

Yesterday, we posted a number of Christmas mixes; today we post our own. This time last year, we put up 90-plus minutes of Christmas music that we listened to throughout the season, and this year we have another mix that is led by the ghost of Lou Reed, who joins us in wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas.
Personal favorites in this year's collection include Christmas songs from Andre Williams, Yo La Tengo, a beautiful track from Teen Daze, and Don Vappie, who captured the vibe of the children's novelty Christmas song perfectly without sacrificing musicality. The Free Design's "Close Your Mouth (It's Christmas)" is the oddest track here, and "Old Toy Train" by Nick Lowe from his Quality Street Christmas album is the loveliest - a lullaby that seemed like the perfect way to end a Christmas collection.
Tonight, we will lead our fourth or fifth annual Christmas Caroling Pub Crawl. We'll meet at The Kingpin (1307 Lyons St. near Prytania) at 7:30 p.m. and leave soon after. We'll take Christmas to the neighborhood and hope you'll join us. If you can sing, good; if you can't, you'll be in good company.
